The Sofia Pride Organizing Committee announces a change in this year’s event format – the march will take place before the concert, on June 14.
Doors will open at 2:00 PM, when participants will begin gathering at Knyaz Alexander I Square (Battenberg). The march will begin at 4:00 PM sharp, starting at the intersection of G. S. Rakovski Street and Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. It will proceed through the central streets of the capital and finish again at Knyaz Alexander I Square around 5:30 PM.
From 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Pride will continue with a large concert featuring popular Bulgarian performers. Artist names will be announced soon.
Everyone is welcome to arrive early and join the march for equal rights. This change in the program aims to highlight the importance of the march itself as a form of peaceful protest and visibility for the LGBTI community.
The theme of the eighteenth edition of Sofia Pride is “We are people, not propaganda” – a clear response to the growing rhetoric portraying LGBTI people and their rights as a threat. With this message, the organizers want to remind the public that behind every story, identity, and cause are real people – with emotions, families, friends, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to live with dignity.
Sofia Pride is organized by the GLAS Foundation, in collaboration with Bilitis Foundation, LGBTI Action, and the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee. The 2025 event is supported by the Bulgarian Fund for Women, the Embassies of Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as companies including Fashion Days, Absolut, Accenture, EY, HP Enterprise, Paysafe, Ingram Micro, Durex, and others.
